How many children can you have at once?As a private home daycare I am only able to have 5 children in my care at once. (max of 3 under 2) This is including my own children up until the age of 4. Once my kids are 4 or older they are no longer part of my numbers.

I see you have a TV in the playroom. Do you watch tv with the kids?We use the tv for songs and educational shows. The only channels we watch are shows that I think are educational/beneficial for the children. If a parent didn't want me putting on a certain show then I would listen to their wishes. Some shows that we watch include: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Simple songs, Miss Rachael, BLIPPI, & Blues clues. The Tv is not kept on all day. I turn it on sometimes while the children are arriving in the morning before outside time, while I am making lunch & in the afternoon after naptime before outside time. If I find the children are watching a lot of TV instead of playing, I will turn it off. We use simple songs to sing together & do gross motor dancing. (head, shoulders, knees & toes. If you're happy and you know it. ETC)

What safety measures are in place? All my smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are brand new. I have a fire extinguisher that is locateed above my fridge. All my cupboards in the kitchen and bathroom are locked and can only be open with a magnet key. I have a first aid kit that is always easily accesible. the main playroom is enclosed with a baby gate. My backyard is fully enclosed.

What qualifications or training do you have?I am an registered early childhood educator. I was a nanny for several years and have been in the childcare field for over 10 years. I have my first aid, CPR, food handlers and a recent police check.

Where do the children sleep?Infants sleep in a pack and play that is either provided by the parent or myself. Toddlers and older children sleep in a peapod. This is like a tent that has a built in mattress under it. This tent will belong to the child and not be shared with any other children unless disinfected prior. I encourage families to bring pillows, blankets and sleep aids to help children feel comfortable. All children will have a camera/monitor on them at all times that allows me to see and hear them.
-
What kind of snacks and meals do you provide? My menu is always changing. I go by what the children like. I provide a morning snack, a lunch and afternoon snack. Fruit and veggies will be served every day. There is a sample menu on the website that outlines some of the possible foods your child will be fed.

How are you dealing with Covid? This is a scary time in the world right now and I want my parents being comfortable with their choice of choosing me for their childcare needs. All toys are sprayed down nightly. I am fully vaccinated. If children show 2 or more symptoms they will be asked to be picked up. If my household shows any symptoms we will test and only open if we are testing negative. I also send all the families a message to let them know that I am testing negative but showing symptoms. Fridays I do a deeper clean of the playroom and area.
